Actos, a drug commonly prescribed for the treatment of Type 2 diabetes, was a huge seller for manufacturer Takeda Pharmeceuticals. However, Actos has several dangerous side effects, one of which is an increased risk for bladder cancer. Takeda did not adequately warn the public about this increased risk, and the company has agreed to a landmark settlement that aims to compensate those who developed bladder cancer after taking the drug. Those who have taken Actos and subsequently developed bladder cancer may be eligible for compensation.
